Competition lake

Ranked one of the top rowing and sprint canoe/kayak courses in the world, the Competition Lake at Sydney International Regatta Centre is ideal for regattas and offers competitors fair competition with minimal crosswind.

Features include:

  • 2300-metre length
  • Nine, 13.5-metre wide lanes for rowing, canoeing and kayaking
  • Consistent five-metre depth
  • Rock-coated, wave-absorbing banks
  • Surrounding native trees designed to limit cross winds.

Warm-up Lake

Our 1500-metre Warm-Up Lake gives competitors the chance to train while a race is in progress and a place to cool down after an event, ensuring minimal delays between races. It’s also available for open water swim competitions.

Towers, timing huts and pavilion

Event officials, timing judges and commentators get a front-row seat at the Sydney International Regatta Centre. Our start and finish towers and timing huts provide a birds-eye view of competitions and feature precision timing and photo finish system. Our spectator pavilion has views of the Competition Lake and seats 1000 people.
