The Sydney International Regatta Centre is committed to improving environmental performance through sustainable practices that promote biodiversity and develop viable ecosystems that benefit water quality. We do this through:

  • A water quality management plan
  • Detention basins for water run-off
  • Over 25,000 native aquatic plants for natural water purification
  • Extensive wetland planting in the Cranebrook lakes area
  • Lake aerators for oxygen levels and even temperature
  • A dedicated wetlands for over 75 local and migratory birds
  • An adaptive management plan of fish communities
  • The introduction of over 70,000 bass fish to support the freshwater ecosystem
  • Regeneration of the grounds with planting of 30,000 native tress and shrubs.
